iPhone Love

My husband knows that the way to my heart is through technical gadgets. Two years ago he gave me an iPhone for Valentine's Day. This year he gave me an upgrade to a newer iPhone. I’m loving it.
With my first iPhone, I didn’t understand what he’d given me. It took weeks to figure out all that the phone could do.
I was just thrilled at first to have a phone with an address book and a camera. Then I learned that I could play solitaire on it. Next, my son showed me how to put music on the iPod section.
When I began to use facebook frequently I discovered that my iPhone connected straight to facebook. It took six months to find out that I could search the internet and have news delivered straight into the palm of my hand via my phone.
When my husband gave me a phone this Valentine's, I took no time at all downloading my apps and music and audio Bible. My newborn granddaughter’s picture became my wallpaper within minutes.
I understood what I had in my hand. I knew where it could take me and what it could bring into my world. I had learned the power of the iPhone.

God's power for us in our lives is much like the iPhone. Most of us walk through our days in weakness and need—because we don't know what is available to us as Christ followers.

“I Pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of Glory,
may give you spiritual wisdom and revelation
in your growing knowledge of him,
since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened
so that you may know what is the hope of his calling,
what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and what is the incomparable greatness of his power
toward us who believe,
as displayed in the exercise of his immense  strength.”
Ephesians 1 17-19

Paul prayed for the Ephesians to gain a full understanding of their inheritance as believers. He wanted them to know the power available to them—the SAME power God used to raise Christ from the dead.

Like Paul, I pray over my children that they may have the eyes of their hearts enlightened to experience all that God intends for them. I pray this for you as well.

Lord, please help us know the fullness of your love and power in our lives every day. It is the same power which raised Jesus from the dead available to us. Help us walk in that everyday. Open the eyes of our heart, Lord.

  1. I'm amazed at all these modern gadgets too, Rhodema. It is God's power that gave men the intelligence to make all these things. It blows my mind. How can I not praise Him for His power and His goodness. Thank you for sharing.
    Blessings,
